| Day 1 - Friday Depart Australia early evening on South African Airways Day 2 - Saturday Arrive Johannesburg and connect with onward flight to Cape Town. Orientation tour of Cape Town en route to hotel. Welcome drinks and snacks in the early evening. O/N Portswood Hotel Day 3 - Sunday Cape Town to Cape Point via Hout Bay and Chapman's Peak Drive returning via False Bay. Lunch. Visit Table Mountain. O/N Portswood Hotel (B&L) |
Day 4 - Monday Touring gardens including 'Stellenberg', a private garden, and Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Lunch and afternoon at leisure. Dinner with entertainment at the Waterfront. O/N Portswood Hotel (B&D) Day 5 - Tuesday Depart for Clanwilliam with Postberg Nature Reserve, lunch and other stops of interest en route. Dinner. Day 7 - Thursday Depart for Stellenbosch via Tulbagh with lunch, wine tasting and visiting historic sites and a route through spectacular countryside. O/N Stellenbosch Hotel (B&L) Day 8 - Friday A day of wandering in the scenic wine valleys of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek visiting private and public gardens, historical buildings and memorials. Day 9 - Saturday Depart for Oudtshoorn via Swellendam. Enjoy a relaxed lunch and the magnificent wildflower area of Tradouw Pass. O/N Queens Hotel (B,L&D) Day 10 - Sunday Two excursions in the morning: the Cango Caves and a working ostrich farm where lunch will be served. | Day 11 - Monday Back to Knysna where, at Featherbed Nature Reserve on the lagoon, the natural flora of the 'Garden Route' will be explored using 4x4 vehicles. After a special fish lunch, a guided walk on the Bush-Buck Trail. O/N Beacon Island Hotel (B,L&D) Day 12 - Tuesday Depart for Port Elizabeth continuing along the 'Garden Route' via the Tsitsikamma Forest with interesting stops en route including the Storms River Bridge spanning Van Stadens Gorge. | Day 13 - Wednesday An early flight to Johannesburg with a connecting flight to Kruger National Park. Lunch at leisure. Late afternoon guided game viewing excursion in 4x4 vehicles. Dinner. O/N Skukuza Camp (B&D) Day 14 - Thursday An early start for an exciting full day of escorted game viewing in 4x4 vehicles with breakfast and lunch at leisure at other camps in the Park before returning to Skukuza in the late afternoon. Day 16 - Saturday Tour of Sun City to see the elaborate and extensive landscaping throughout this world famous resort. Picnic lunch. Afternoon free for relaxation. Dinner at leisure. After lunch at leisure, a tour of Johannesburg, surrounding districts and Soweto. Dinner at the exotic Carnivore Restaurant. | Day 19 - Tuesday Optional extension passengers take an early morning transfer to Johannesburg Airport for their onward flight to Victoria Falls. (B,L&D) Passengers returning to Australia that evening have the opportunity to spend a leisurely morning sightseeing at a venue TBA. Day 20 - Wednesday Evening arrival at Sydney International Airport. Possible onward flight to Canberra if SAA flight arrives on time. Tour concludes. If flight is late, overnight in Sydney at own cost then onward flight to Canberra next morning. |
